Ok, you may be asking yourself why on earth I have done this…

Why have I, a web designer and digital marketer, set up a site on WordPress.Com? Why is my site so basic looking? Why am I even bothering it’s that bland?

Well, this is not meant to be a showcase of my design work. It’s a place to tell it how it is. A BLOG (and yes, that’s the first rant!) I wanted to have a place where I could talk about everything to do with life right now. It’s not meant to be pretty. It’s meant to be real. The words are meant to be the focus. 

Now, of course, I could have made this much more flashy, but that is the point that I am trying to make. This is going to be a ‘warts and all’ journey through life, wherever it may take me. It has been one hell of a ride so far so I expect my middle years to be no different. 

I’ll warn you now, I have no desire to conform. Over the last few years, attitudes to ageing have slowly started to change, but there is still some idea that once we, as women, hit our middle years we need to tone it all down. No, sorry, that isn’t happening here. If you want that, then you need to look elsewhere. 

Strap yourself in for what could be a bumpy ride. 

If you’re interested… The header image for my blog is a section of ‘The Coffin Jump’ a work by Katrina Palmer. The work was inspired by the role of women in the first world war. It was at The Yorkshire Sculpture Park until the start of June.
